Roads
LGIS offers a range of services to assist local governments to operate efficiently under the current arrangements of the Roads Alliance, a partnership between the Regional Road Groups (RRG) and Main Roads.
The Roads Alliance has been operating since 2002 to manage an agreed road network called Local Roads of Regional Significance (LRRS).
LGIS seeks to collaborate with LGAQ, Department of Main Roads (DMR) and RRGs for the Roads Alliance to offer support in the ongoing development of this partnership.
In addition LGIS can support local governments with the development of business cases, funding applications, stakeholder engagement and commercial negotiations. This support will assist local governments to further develop roads currently owned by the Queensland Government but operated and maintained by local authorities under the Roads Maintenance Performance Contracts (RMPC) as administered by the various branches of DMR across the state.
