Regional & Remote Community Support
LGIS offers cost effective and efficient support specifically designed for local governments in regional and remote communities.
LGIS can assist these regional and remote councils in addressing their auditing, reporting and regulatory requirements. Once regulatory compliance is achieved, the process of accessing funding and subsidies becomes more straightforward and achievable for councils. LGIS can then help councils identify all available sources of State and Commonwealth funding opportunities, and submit the funding and subsidy applications.
In addition, LGIS can assist with basic services such as housing, water, sewerage, transport and emergency services to rural, remote and indigenous communities.
LGIS has developed a strong working relationship with the Aboriginal Local Government Association of Queensland (ALGAQ), and can assist indigenous communities in the provision of infrastructure, following their transfer to local government status.
LGIS also facilitates regional and remote local governments in resource sharing and capacity building through expanding shared services and identifying opportunities to establish collaborated regional programs.
