A Project Assurance Review can provide a local government with an independent review at any stage of its procurement process and thereby support a local government in achieving its project outcomes. The main objective is to provide assurance that the right questions are asked at each stage of the project delivery life cycle, that all appropriate stakeholders are engaged, and that appropriate steps are taken. The findings may be used by a local government as a basis for undertaking further analysis, revising its budget, or revising key assumptions, before proceeding to the next stage. A Project Assurance Review is intended to improve procurement outcomes and may assist in avoiding major mistakes in infrastructure provision.
