Home WaterWise Service

LGIS delivered the highly successful Home WaterWise Service across 11 south east Queensland councils on behalf of the Department of Local Government, Sport and Recreation. The key objective of the Home WaterWise Service was to reduce potable water consumption in south east Queensland as part of the regional drought management strategy overseen by the Queensland Water Commission (QWC), as well as to achieve significant and demonstrable long-term water savings. The service included a licensed plumber visiting customers' homes and performing a range of water saving measures including the installation of a high-quality water efficient showerhead. LGIS managed all aspects of the program including logistics, customer engagement, quality assurance, marketing and data management. LGIS delivered the program on time and under budget, achieving 4.7 gigalitres (billion litres) of water savings per year by performing a total of 228,551 services - one in every six homes across south east Queensland. |
