In 2008, LGIS was involved in an innovative regional collaboration project in Central Queensland involving the Central Queensland Local Government Association (CQLGA), and Central Highlands, Gladstone, Isaac and Rockhampton regional councils. The project involved researching, preparing and letting regionally based but individually signed contracts for the following waste management services:
The project was the first and geographically largest of its type in Queensland, representing a potential contract value of between $20 and $40 million. As part of the project, LGIS provided a range of advisory services including:
